Contemporary Art for Human Rights of Children living with HIV

22 October 2007 Contemporary Art for Human Rights of Children living with HIV

The Booklet “Contemporary Art for Human Rights of Children, living with HIV” was released.

In 2006-2007 within the program of Stella Art Foundation “Art in Response to HIV Prevention among Children” in collaboration with the Moscow UNESCO Office were organized three master classes for children who live with HIV. They were held by three renowned contemporary artists: one by Alena Kirtsova in Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital of Ust-Izhora town, Saint-Petersburg, and the other ones by Evgenia Emets and Stas Polnarev in Children’s home, Yekaterinburg. Considering this experience to be important and unique, we asked all of the artists to describe it. The principal aim of the present project is bringing the problem of social adaptation of children who live with HIV into the focus of public attention and ensuring an adequate environment for their education and treatment. The film about these master-classes is attached.
