Works by Vagrich Bakhchanyan from Stella Art Foundation collection will be demonstrated at the “Press Day” exhibition in Proun Gallery.
“Press Day” is a new exhibition project of ProunGallery primarily dedicated to collage: a technique, which occupies a special place in the art of the twentieth century. Appearing first in the Cubist works as a full-fledged artistic medium, it continues to exist in contemporary art constantly evolving and taking various shapes, ranging from photomontage to assemblages, collage objects, etc. A local story chosen by Proun Gallery curators allows the viewer to identify common properties of collage as a separate genre on the one hand, and to discover the specifics and importance of using printed mass media fragments on the other.
The exhibition is open to the public from March 24 to May 15, 2011.
