The award ceremony for the IV Annual Award of The Art Newspaper Russia took place in the Manege Central Exhibition Hall. The winner in the Personal Contribution category was Stella Kesaeva, president of the Stella Art Foundation, commissioner of the Russian pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2011, 2013 and 2015), art collector and philanthropist.
Stella Kesaeva: “It’s unexpected, but extremely nice. I would like to express my gratitude to the organisers of the competition for such a fine award. It would be unfair if I were the only one to claim it because these projects were the work of a great many people. I would like to thank everyone working at the Foundation, the sponsors, and, of course, our artists without whom there would be no contemporary art or art of any kind.”
