While appealing the the public and calling for its attention and understanding, Chuikov's installations nevertheless remain hermetic - this is where the art is engaged in a dialogue with and within itself. The particular correlates with the general, works of art with laws, according to which they are created and exist, the laws they ignore or challenge. What first appeared as a riddle gradually evolves into a fascinating game whose rules become ever more clear, only to close on itself again. The door from the physical world into the realm of the ideal is opened a little, but one still can't enter it.

Evgeni Dybsky (1965) is an artist of another generation
(“vosmidesyatniki”). As well as various Vulokh’s works, pictures of
Evgeni Dybsky are inspired by figural world of landscape. Having began
to work with realistic landscapes by the end of 80th the author was
getting rid of realistic forms: the skyline moved from the usual place,
oval and vertical tree forms are set in unexpected parts of canvas,
flower fields are turned into plane surfaces with spots. Dybsky’s works
are characterized by moderate colors and broad areas covered with
paint. There are dominant pure white, mysterious black and raging
complex color tinges. Surfaces covered with pastous, sky-blue, mat
orange or light-green obtain texture determined by brush strokes.

Eugenia Emets works primarily using photographic processes of representation. After a period of intense research into the photography of Central Asia and the region's imagery Emets has recently moved towards the transformation of the photographs used for a departure into animated, moving forms of representation. Eugenia Emets transcends the photographic supports for her work by translating them into light boxes and animations. Her work, too, integrates the observer's viewpoint in its conception.(Boris Manner)

Alexandra Galkina creates abstract graphics, the stylistics of which is similar to the one of Soviet suprematism. Moreover, her works contain much simplified shapes of real objects: patterns of ladies' wear, details of factory machines, microcircuits, building constructions and elements of household furniture.

Born in Teheran in 1974, Howtan and his two brothers were taken to Rome
by their mother in 1979, when the Shah was overthrown. Since 1986 he
has alternated between living in the United States and Italy. Although
deeply interested in photography since he was 12 years old, he did not
consider becoming an artist until he met Professor Achille Bonito Oliva
in 2003. Dr. Oliva, professor of contemporary art at the La Sapienza
University in Rome, director of the 43rd Venice Bienniale and an
important art critic, saw Howtan’s photographs and urged him to exhibit
them. The artist’s first body of work, "Hell & Paradise," was
largely inspired by his life in Roman society. Its poignant images and
symbolic use of blood, water, flowers and feathers comment on
contemporary women: their joys, their suffering, and the sometimes
disastrous consequences of their stressful lifestyles. Noting the
bicultural background of the artist, Dr. Oliva feels that "Hell &
Paradise" refers to "two opposite and complementary worlds, a dualism
present in the spirit and personality of the artist himself." The
artist’s elegant photographic sets reconstruct situations where
emotions are recreated visually "to defuse the drama of inner suffering
and experience a feeling of pleasureand liberation."

Kabakov was one of the major figures in the city’s underground community of dissident artists and intellectuals known as the circle of conceptualists. During the late ’60s and ’70s, this group produced a wide range of art, from poetry to visual imagery and film that represented a critical commentary on the official Soviet government and its oppressive policies.

Vadim Kosmatschof,
born in 1938 in Russia, is one of Europe's most important object
artists. His large-scale kinetic sculptures for public spaces use solar
energy to create movement and light effects. In objects such as
"Pulsating Gene" or "Urban Heart", Kosmatschof focuses on fundamental
issues of the nature sciences and relates them to cosmological
phenomena.

"As an artist, Igor Makarevich is known for that high professional level, perfection of form, the special "finish" and "completeness" of work, an eye for details, an appeal to traditional esthetic codes, the magnificent command of various techniques, be it book illustrations (to Kafka, Thackeray), or photography, or monumental projects, or designs for exhibition space"(T.Salzirn) The mythology of the grandiose Soviet period still stimulates my creative energy. "Camera offers a perfect chance to lie. If you do not like the gesture or the expression - you do not take their photographs. That is the usual way we lie. But this is exactly where my personal truth takes root. It is my experience, my memory", - Robert Mapplethorpe used to say. Time has proved that Mapplethorpe's "personal truth" is of interest to the world at large. After the artist's death his solo exhibitions have traveled around all major museums of the world, attracting thousands of visitors. As for his works they have replenished the most famous private collections.

"Since the end of the 1970s David Salle's paintings have been based on the juxtaposition and parallels between images very different in nature and origin. Fragments selected from the imagery of art history are casually compared with advertisements, news photos, cartoon characters, and photos of nude women and real objects.
