Vadim Kosmatschof

 

1938

born in Kaluga (USSR)

1952 - 1958

attends the Moscow Secondary Art School (now called Moscow Academic Art Lyceum named after N.V.Tomsky)

1959 - 1965

studies at the Moscow Stroganov School of Industrial and Applied Art (now called Moscow State Universiry of Industrial and Applied Art named after S.G.Stroganov)

1968 - 1977

creates projects and realizes sculptures for urban public spaces in Moscow, Ashkhabad (Turkmenistan) and Nouakchott (Mauretania)

1979

emigrates to Austria

Since 1981 realizes large-scale sculptures for public spaces in Germany and Austria

1985

is awarded the State Prize of the German Bundesland Rheinland-Pfalz for art in public spaces

2007

is appointed Honorary Professor of the International Academy of Architecture (IAA)

Lives and works in Germany and Austria
