Stella Art Foundation at the 53rd Venice Biennale

Stella Art Foundation  presented three projects at the 2009 Venice Biennale. The Foundation held its exhibition entitled 'That Obscure Object of Art / The Russian Art of 1975-2005 from the Collection of Stella Art Foundation 'at Ca' Rezzonico Museum in the context of the Biennale's parallel program, while also supporting Russian artists who participated in the core program of the 53rd Venice  Biennale, as well as the Moscow Poetry Club.

In the autumn of 2009 Stella Art Foundation becomes one of the key participants at the 2nd Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, with a whole series of artistic activities arranged in the context of the Biennale parallel programs and consolidated in a single ambitious project "Moscow -Thessaloniki 2009 / Works from Stella Art Foundation collection".

An international press conference with the participation of Martin Boehm, the Chairman of the Dorotheum auction house, was held on October 17.  The exhibitions planned in Moscow and Vienna were the main theme of discussion.

Poetic performance at the opening of Actionfield Kodra 08

The opening ceremony of Vagrich Bakhchanian's exhibition at Actionfield Kodra (Salonica) featured a performance delivered by Eugeny Nikitin, a Russian poet and curator of the poetry club of Stella Art Foundation, Russia, and the Greek poet Vassilis Amanatidis, based on a poetry collection by Vassilis Amanatidis "The Hare and the Country" translated into Russian by Oleg Philippov and Eugeny Nikitin.

Contemporary Russian Art Festival on Corfu

In the summer and autumn 2008, Stella Art Foundation (Moscow) will host a Contemporary Russian Art Festival on Corfu in collaboration with the Marina Noel Foundation (Corfu) together with Moscow Government and Kerkyra City Hall. The Festival, curated by Anastasia Dokuchaeva art-director of Stella Art Foundation, will feature a number of exhibitions and events showcasing the works now considered to be classical representations of the modern Russian art, as well as the most recent sensations in the realm of the young Russian art.

«Qui vive?» I Moscow International Biennale for Young Art

The Young Artists’ Biennale “Halt! Who’s there?” is one of the largest and most ambitious projects in the sphere of modern art currently realised on the Moscow art scene. The biennale brings together the creative initiatives from all over Russia and from abroad (both the CIS and worldwide), Moscow leading art centres along with regional and international partners. Innovation Award

Special award of Stella Art Foundation was established together with Marina Noel’s Foundation (Greece). Anna Zhelud', the winner in "New Generation" nomination was invited to live and work on Corfu island for a couple of weeks in July-August to create a special artistic project that will be exhibited later.

Stella Art Foundation took part on the Global Art Forum 2008 in Dubai within "Art Patronage in the Business Age. Private Passions: Cultural Philanthropy and Collecting".

The third meeting of the Poetry Club on the occasion of the World Day of Poetry was held on March 13 at the Foundation's premises at Skariatinsky Pereulok, as an evening of poetry by Yuri Arabov and Igor Karaulov.
