Works of Olga Chernysheva, Igor Makarevich and Elena Elagina from the collection of Stella Art Foundation will be displayed at the “Blizzard” exhibition that will open the Arsenal, a new exhibition site of the Volga branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts in Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.

The “Blizzard” exhibition depicts winter as an artistic metaphor of Russian life. Exhibition participants present their view on the “blizzard country”, where mental and social motives get mixed in the snow.

Pieces of art combined in a single-piece story by a common visual link - snow - form a common winter medium in the exhibition hall, hiding a special Russian context under the name of a formal landscape: the natural, historical and socio-cultural environment that a person living in Russia inevitably has to face and live in.

Exhibition participants include Dmitry Gutov, Vadim Zakharov, Collective Action Group, Where Dogs Run To Creative Association, Igor Makarevich and Elena Elagina, Provmyza Group, BlueSoup Group, Leonid Tishkov, Olga Chernysheva, Sergey Shutov.

Dates and hours: April 28 - June 19, 2011, 12 pm - 7 pm everyday except Monday
Address: Nizhny Novgorod, Kremlin, building 6, ncca.ru
