Cultural Moscow is Thessaloniki's guest these
days. It brought along a whole series of works and projects from the fields of
linguistic and visual art, that will be shown by
the Stella Art Foundation in the context of the parallel program of the
Second Thessaloniki Contemporary Art Biennale conducted by the State
Contemporary Art Museum in cooperation with artBΟΧ.gr | creative arts management,
the National Bank's Educational Foundation, Thessaloniki Archeological Museum
and the Thessaloniki Port Authority.
Stella Art Foundation is a non-commercial organization established in Moscow in November 2004
at the initiative of collector Stella Kesaeva. Main purposes of the Foundation
include supporting cultural exchanges, promotion of the creative effort of
Russian artists and institution of a contemporary art museum in the Russian
capital.
The Foundation takes a very dynamic part in all the major international
contemporary art events (documenta, Venice Biennale) and cooperates with
important museum institutions of different countries (Kunsthistorisches Museum,
Vienna, Ca' Rezzonico, Venice). It is also implementing an extensive charity
program. In the context of its participation
in the parallel program of the Second Biennale, the Foundation has already held
a successful presentation of the Making
Words project of its Moscow Poetry Club, combining visual elements and pure
poetry, at the Warehouse # 3 of the city port, and is going to hold, till
November 1, an exhibition Subjective
Visions with works of 25 Russian artists at the premises of the National
Bank's Educational Foundation. Besides, artist Alexander Djikia will present an
in-situ installation inspired by
motifs if Cretan-Mycenaean seals at the Thessaloniki Archeological Museum.
