Vadim Kosmatschof,
born in 1938 in Russia, is one of Europe's most important object
artists. His large-scale kinetic sculptures for public spaces use solar
energy to create movement and light effects. In objects such as
"Pulsating Gene" or "Urban Heart", Kosmatschof focuses on fundamental
issues of the nature sciences and relates them to cosmological
phenomena.
